Mechanic, Class A in Cohoes, NY

Recognized for its technical innovation and environmental focus, Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. manufactures premium printing, writing and digital paper. Mohawk is currently seeking a Mechanic for the second shift. A person in this position must possess the skills of an experienced millwright, preferably in a paper mill environment or heavy manufacturing process facility. The Mechanic will possess skills such as the ability to operate lathes, weld, perform equipment alignment, rigging, and interpret blueprints. The Mechanic must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as, pumps, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and be able to perform any other work required of the mechanical classification. An Associates degree is preferred, but not required. The second shift mechanic is normally scheduled 3PM - 11PM, with rotating weekends. These hours can be extended. The position currently pays $22.13 per hour, plus differential, and provides the opportunity to advance to the current top rate of $25.35. Mohawk offers a comprehensive benefits package.
